Internal Audit, Associate Manager
Summary
Responsible for performing local audit activities and supporting GVL Chief Auditor within respective area, from risk assessment to Internal audit plan and engagement execution.
Scope
General activities
- Involved in Group Internal Audit implementation projects, initiatives and providing independent internal control consultancy.
- Acting as a role model fosters an open and collaborative working culture.
Risk Assessment
- Performs and monitors the internal audit risk assessment; Facilitate to build a risk-responsive audit function
Annual Internal Audit Planning
- Gives support for annual plan development, approval and implementations.
Audit Engagements
- Independently execute audit engagements (e.g., planning, scoping and delivering of medium/low complexity audit engagements) identified in the audit plan.
- Accountable for day-to-day management of the audit in line with Group audit methodology.
- Responsible for the preparation and arrangement of the Audit Plan Memo, Risk and Control Matrix, Half Time Review, Meeting Minutes, Issues Log, ToR and Audit Report.
- Responsible for the review and challenge of audit work delivered by the other junior auditor.
- Responsible for checking the issues resolution and preparing the issue closure.
- Reports and escalates risks and issues as appropriate.
- Ensure agreed corrective actions and Top management are tracked and implemented.
- Responsible for managing day-to-day stakeholder relations.
- Apply and conduct data analytics as required for audit engagements.
Reporting
- Support GVL Chief Auditor in reporting activities to Regional/ Group Internal Audit and the local BOM/ Management.
Relationship with Local Management and other control functions
- Responsible for managing good relations with local management, control functions and external auditors.
- Works with a specific range of contacts and resources to develop technical and commercial knowledge/business awareness.
- Works in partnership with other functions to ensure a coordinated and collaborative approach to Audit activities and the availability of technical information and resources to support the required Audit process.
- Where delegated by GVL Chief Auditor own and manage a limited number of relationships with allocated area of the business.

- Timely and quality completion of annual targets e.g.
- Achievement of related Group Internal Audit project/ initiatives.
- Completion of respective audit engagements.
- Quality assurance results on respective audits.
- Ability to operate with minimum supervision on complex assignments and coordinate part of the team.
- Embraces life-long learning evaluated on e.g.
- Participation to training sessions and upskills improvement.
Professional Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, ideally in business administration, finance, law, insurance/financial services/ management.
- Continually learning and improving own skills, which could be demonstrated by holding relevant professional qualifications (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CISA, CIA) or relevant technical qualification, and keeping up to date with developments in the finance industry, markets and regulation.
Experience
More than 6 years of experience as within an insurance /financial services business with a sound knowledge of one or more technical areas (Insurance operations, Investments, IT Audit...), or External auditor with 6+ years’ experience in a public accounting firm with a solid understanding of Risk Management, Compliance, Governance and Control standards in financial services industry.
Mobility
Reasonably frequent travel within region may occur.
Language
Fully proficient in English, especially in both writing and presentation.
